In Front of the Bloodmobile

Tronique Essential kicked off 2010 with a rousing success – the West Windor Sleepy’s/Trader Joe’s Blood Drive partnered with our good friends, the Community Blood Council of New Jersey .  The “Officially Unofficial” launch on Rt 1 in West Windsor on January 16th, provided a minor backdrop to a broader goal accomplished: SAVED LIVES and COMMUNITY HARMONY. Boomer from the Trenton Thunder was on hand mugging for maximum camera exposure, as well as the West Windsor Police D.A.R.E. Ninja racing cycle (did you know it was confiscated from a Heroin dealer?). The more spacious, but less sexy D.A.R.E Durango also shared pavement for photo ops (see  photo below).  Trader Joe’s Store Captain and crew members stocked coffee and addictively tasty/healthy snacks for the blood donors to enjoy after filling their units.

The day was topped off by a two hour appearance by the ever present Ashley & Jackie, from the New York Jets Flight Crew compliments of generous event sponsor,  Sleepy’s – The Mattress Professionals. After modeling mattresses, signing autographs and chatting with massively stoked Jets fans inside Sleepy’s, the pair stepped their white boots outdoors on the mild Winter day to pose in front of the Bloodmobile. Ever-grinning West Windsor Mayor Hsueh was also in attendance representing the township.
